Kid Rock delivers:
The Lyrics:
Used as a scapegoat taped to the wall
Bruised and abused on some foreign soil
Trained to kill, baby that’s what we do
Programmed to bleed red, white and blue
Come on and grab your guns let’s ride
May your conscience be your guide
I’ll say a prayer for you to make it through to the other side
Tonight’s the night we fight or die
Grab your gun son said we’re heading for war
Like your uncle JT thirty years before
No pussy no dope this aint Saigon
But keep your heads up for roadside bombs
Come on and grab your guns let’s ride
May your conscience be your guide
I’ll say a prayer for you to make it through to the other side
Tonight’s the night we fight or die
Even in darkness you’re my strength my soul my will to survive
But in this fight I stand ready to die
Come on and grab your guns let’s ride
May your conscience be your guide
I’ll say a prayer for you to make it through to the other side
Tonight’s the night
Tonight’s the night
Come on and grab your guns let’s ride
May your conscience be your guide
Come on
Come on
Come on
Come on
Come on
Yeaaaaa
When it comes down to it, Kid Rock seems like a pretty solid guy. He’s toured with the USO in the past, and does not even make a big deal of it.
“It’s a funny thing to do that and get commended, because it’s obviously just the opposite way [of] how I view it, [which] is to do something to commend these brave men and women,” he said. “It’s been a long war, let’s face it. We were talking the other day, wondering how many times Bob Hope’s been [overseas], thinking of, you know, those World Wars were, like, four years, and this is going on eight, nine years now. There’s a lot of entertainment needed over there, and that’s what I can provide, and it’s always a privilege just to be asked to go and play for those guys.” -Kid Rock
If you want to add or listen the song to your soundcloud:
We need more people that make music like him, and more people who are in music to be like him and support the troops.
