• National Geographic Inside Combat Rescue

Something to keep an eye on in 2013:

Four teams of Pararescuemen (PJs) and Combat Rescue Officers (CROs) work around the clock to make sure the casualties of war get a second chance. See what it takes to be a PJ and what it means to serve by the motto- “These things we do that others may live.”

You know National Geographic is going to deliver on the visuals, so that’s not the issue.  As long as they tell the story properly (which they normally do) it should be a great show.

  • Hors De Combat Inaugural Collection Launch Video

Some creepyness coming out of Canada:

The term Hors De Combat translates literally to “outside the fight”.  We have taken this literal meaning to be the underlying foundation of the brand. By combining the form and functionality of military apparel with a minimalist design approach we aim to create distinctive garments with subtle flair. Our products are made locally in Calgary, Canada.

I wasn’t really sure what items were part of the collection and which ones were not until I checked their website.

Hors-De-Combat-LogoDefinitely an interesting way to get people’s attention, even if the video doesn’t make any sense… beats some guys standing around on a white backdrop with perfect hair.

Make sure you check out the products on their website.  Only 7 pieces right now, but it’s a solid looking start.

  • Jeremy Scott Adidas Plush Camouflage Bear High Top Shoes

The most ridiculous collab ever with Jeremy Scott… and that’s saying a lot:

    Jeremy-Scott-Adidas-Camo-Bear-Shoes-Front

    Jeremy-Scott-Adidas-Camo-Bear-Shoes-Back

$289 available for pre-order over at LuisaViaRoma.  Arrival by March 31st.

The fact the shoe exists is bad enough.  $289? :/.  The fact it will likely sell out just because Jeremy Scott was involved?  Strike III.

  • G.I. Joe Retaliation

I like G.I. Joe movies because they remind me of my childhood:

    In theaters March 29th 2013.

I’ve got so many G.I. Joe action figures.  I should find them and make up a short post someday.

  • Honey I Blew Up The Plastic Green Army Man

A grown up version of what you likely used to play with:

    Giant-Toy-Green-Army-Man-Plastic-Soldiers

    Giant-Toy-Green-Army-Man-Plastic-Soldiers-1

18″ tall in total!  They tried to keep it as close as possible to the orignal small version, with mold lines, ejection circles from the pins, and all.

    $95 over at GreatBigStuff.

  • Nike Urban Digital Camouflage Moon Shoes

They call them Lunar Force 1s:

    Nike-Lunar-Force-1-Digital-Camo

    Nike-Lunar-Force-1-Digital-Camo-Rear

I think I would have went with calling them Moon Force 1s… but whatever.  Besides the fact I don’t really care for urban camo or digital camo, I am really liking the shoe’s silhouette   That’s likely because it’s simply an AF1 with a ribbed upper sole.

You can pick a pair up at Oneness for $175.
