• Live Resin Weapons, Accessories, And Figurines

1/35 and 1/16 scale resin for the discerning modeler:

    Live-Resin-Military-Scale-Model

    Live-Resin-Military-Scale-Model-M16A4

Plenty of options available over at LiveResin.

The post pictures are renders, not the actual product.  A quick look at a YouTube review on one of their sets goes to show the quality appears to be top notch.  The models look a little more rough then they do in the pictures though and you definitely have to be good with model paint if you want to make the end product realistic looking.

  • Carhartt WIP Camouflage Michigan Coat

Carhartt doesn’t play around when it comes to workwear.

If you’re not familiar with Carhartt, and you check out their website you’ll notice that workwear is synonymous with bland.  Carhart WIP on the other hand (if you were not a business major WIP means Work In Progress) is quite a bit more stylish and they use a broad range of fabrics that give their designs more of a streetwear look.

£110 ($177 USD) over at Carhartt WIP.

  • Hardy Blechman Of Maharishi Talks DPM

“Camouflage” for those that don’t already know.

For the military, camouflage became important when long-range weaponry was developed. Before that, there was no need for it, but in the South African Boer wars, at the end of the 19th century, English soldiers wearing red suddenly got shot at more and more.

Read the full feature over at PORT Magazine.

Hardy Blechman definitely knows his camouflage.  He co-wrote a ~1000 page encyclopedia of camouflage book, tracking the history of camouflage from its inspiration in nature all the way though it’s military adoption, and onto its use in design and pop culture.  Definitely a book I’d like to pick up someday.

  • Apolis Waxed Cotton USMC Jacket

A great jacket silhouette mixed with the greatness of waxed cotton:

Throw in the detachable wool liner this comes with, and you have yourself a hit.

$378 over at Apolis, available in both black and brown.  I don’t even know which colorway I like better.  When in doubt get both? 😛

  • Word Is Bond

Camouflage notebooks, for your best ideas:

If you’re the creative type and you’re not already carrying around a notebook for your ideas, you definitely should start.

I currently am all about Moleskine brand notebooks, but I might give these ones a try.  Moleskine doesn’t make any of their notebooks in camouflage. 😛

At $10 for a 3 pack, they are definitely worth a try.

  • Chosin – An Animated War Film

    A new Kickstarter campaign:

Looks like it has potential, you can support it’s Kickstarter campaign if you’re interested.

Brian Iglesias and his team already made an interview documentary called Chosin where survivors of the Iwo Jima battle talked about their experiences.  Here is a trailer for that:

Looks amazing.  I hope the animated version does it justice.
