• Doc Martens Shit Kickers For The Steezy Not The Skinheads

    Doc-Martens-Camouflage-1460-Boot

Doc Martens burst into mainstream fame, and earned a cult like following amongst white supremacists after their intense product placement in the 1999 movie American History X.  Check this stomach turning scene for an example:

Doc-Martens-ClassicsI totally made that shit up about product placement and bursting into mainstream fame because of it.  Doc Martens were popular in the 90s in lots of different sub cultures.  It was always the shined up high boots you see pictured left though.

A cursory glance at their website actually shows they have some decent other non-camouflage offerings as well.  Maybe I’ll have to pick up a pair in an effort to erase the goth / white supremacist stigma attached to the brand from my memory.

I digress though… that camouflage boot is based on their 1460 classic model (same as the black one to the left).  No word on the price yet, but you can expect them to be available on their website and at stockists worldwide. I’ll definitely be picking up a pair if I can find any.

  • Consider Your Trouser Game Stepped Up

Just when you thought chinos couldn’t get any colder:

    Zara-Camouflage-Suspenders-Chinos

WA POW!  Yea that’s right, camouflage suspenders in the mix.  Don’t be a douchebag and actually suspend your pants from your shoulders with them though.  Unless you’re a rich fat old white guy you have to let them hang like a boss and snag on everything you walk by.  Remember, only give people one warning when it comes to Andre 3000 jokes… that’s all they deserve.

    $40 over at Zara.

UPDATE: These are kids pants :/ Research fail.

  • RealTree Camouflage Boat Shoe Juxtaposition

Do you even own a boat?  Are you often on it deep in the forest?

    Realtree-Falmouth-Camouflage-Boat-Shoe

The answer is probably no to the 1st question, and is definitely no to the 2nd question.  This my friends, is what they call Juxtapositioning (that word got underlined in my spellcheck, so TM because I’m steady coining new ones up in this).

Plan on hitting up a boat cruise this summer?  Pair these with some crisp chinos and flex on your friends that night.  Next morning, wipe them down and flip them on Style Forum on the sneak tip as NIB (new in box).

$325 over at Need Supply Co.

  • Usher In Valentino Camouflage Leather

U mad I’ve been posting so much Usher?

    Usher-Valentino-Leather-Camo-Jacket

That jacket is actually from the Valentino camouflage collection I posted about a while back.

The particular jacket pictured isn’t up on the Valentino website yet (you’re going to have to wait until closer to S/S), so I have no idea what the price is, but you can bet it’s going to run you more than $5000, considering this non-leather camouflage jacket is $3600.

  • IVI DPM Sunglasses – A Look At The Process

How they made their DPM line of sunglasses from start to finish.

I’m a sucker for “making of” and documentary style videos.  Very inspiring.

The process of making the camouflage acetate itself over at Mazzucchelli 1949 is incredible.

    IVI-Sunglasses-Eyewear-Manufacturing-Process

Check out more on the DPM collection over at IVI.  Prices for various models appear to be around $200.  I don’t know if all $200+ pairs of sunglasses have that much work go into them, but if so I have a new appreciation for all of mine.

  • Leather And Crepe Soles Pesos Chase Hoes

Not.  Just circle around the block in the drop / tell em jump through the top / peep the Ronnie Fiegs because they’re hot:

    Ronnie-Fieg-Caminando-KithNYC-Officer-Boots-Brown

Ronnie Fieg x Caminando for KithNYC; Officer boots, handmade in Mexico.  Those crepe soles are on fire!  I’m considering getting the brown ones, but I don’t like how they are nubuck… I’ve hit Timberlands with mink oil before though with good results, and at $220 I’m definitely not above doing that on these to smooth them out.

    $220 over at KithNYC.
