• Nike AF1 Watershield Hi-Top DCN Military

A limited edition Air Force 1 design with waterproof outer from Nike:

The over-sized stars and stripes gummy sole is a nice touch!  I never go out of my way to look for blaze orange in anything, but the accents of it on this shoe design play off the olive drab color nicely.

€159 ($205 USD) over at CaliRoots.

I posted about another couple Nike AF1 military releases a while back.  Although neither release has a gummy sole which I’m so fond of, they are both very subtle which is always nice.

  • Alexander McQueen Leather And Suede Bomber Jacket

Until the end of time, designers will not leave these iconic military jacket designs alone:

At least the suede is on the top where you are less likely to come in contact with something dirty.

I don’t like how McQueen deviated from the original MA-1 bomber jacket design with the collar.  The stand up collar doesn’t work as well as the original collar in my opinion.

    $2550 over at Mr. Porter.

  • Confederate X132 Hellcat Combat Motorcycle

Confederate motorcycles just got on my radar with their badass new fuel injected V-Twin:

    Promo video:

On August 29, 2012, James Hoegh successfully piloted the first Confederate X132 Hellcat Combat prototype to a top speed of 172.211 mph, making it the world’s fastest big block American V-twin motorcycle ever…

I was kind of “over” motorcycles for a bit… I want this one bad though.  The incredible engineering is a good enough reason to own one of these; I’d have to park it inside the house.

Limited to 36 handcrafted bikes available for $72,000 over at Confederate.  There is also a non-combat version of the X132 available for $50,000 that is similar but not as optimized as the combat version.

What’s not to like about this thing?!

  • Mushroom Camouflage Wool Coat

From Our Legacy x Très Bien Shop:

All your friends still in woodland and tiger camouflage?  Get on that mushroom camo wave before it crests;  It’s going to be big I’m telling you.

$700 over at Très Bien Shop.

  • Diemme Camouflage Pony Hair Military Boots

Made in Italy… Diemme just dialed the fresh up to 11:

Rocking cow leather, and leather in general without hair on it is so 2012.  Diemme is already living in 2013 where we drive around in flying cars and wear hairy leather harvested from the finest camouflage ponies in all the land.  Just wait until late 2013 when Diemme will more than likely be on that unicorn leather tip.

€379 ($485 USD) over at CaliRoots.

Make sure you head over to Diemme’s website as well.  Their boots are all incredible looking.

  • U.S. Military Invests In 3D Printing Technology

The US military is developing its own 3D printers for the frontline which will enable soldiers to quickly and cheaply produce spare parts for their weapons and equipment without having to wait weeks for new deliveries.

    Full Story over at Dezeen

I’ve been utilizing 3D printing for my own prototypes for the last 3 years now, and it’s incredible how far it has came.  The materials are getting stronger, the process is getting quicker, and the cost is coming down.  Even home units now such as the MakerBot Replicator 2 can be picked up for $2200 and are able to do a 100 micron resolution (thin as a sheet of paper).  This is only going to get better and less expensive.
